On 6 March, 2014, the 2nd Open PHACTS Pipeline Pilot Hackathon took place on the Merck campus in Darmstadt, Germany. Attendees from eight different industrial and academic institutions worked on the new version 2.0 of the Open PHACTS component collection which was provided by Accelrys through financial support by Janssen Pharmaceutica.

Presenters explained and demonstrated how new components can be easily created by modifications of existing ones, and if possible a community approach will be followed for the next version of the collection. In a hands-on session dedicated to scientific use cases, attendees applied combinations of different Open PHACTS components for the generation of more sophisticated workflows.
