Open PHACTS and W3C Provenance

Making sure that we can properly track and present the provenance of the data used in the Open PHACTS platform (i.e. where and whom it came from) is key to the vision of the project.

To help ensure this information is open and can be exchanged in a standard and interoperable way, the Open PHACTS team has been contributing to the development of a recommendation for provenance interchange at the World Wide Web Consortium (www.w3c.org). Recently, the W3C’s Provenance working group released a series of draft specifications and is looking for feedback. You can find more information here.

This is just another example of how Open PHACTS is contributing to the broader community and promoting openness.
