The first part of the Open PHACTS project ended on 31 August, 2014, reaching all of its aims.

Version 3 of the Open PHACTS Discovery Platform was released end of August and now features DisGeNet target-disease associations and neXtProt nanopublications for tissue expression, both with corresponding API calls. The Compound Information and Information API calls have also been expanded. Release notes for the Open PHACTS API 1.4 can be found at our support portal.

The 18-month extension has now begun and will seek to tackle new scientific challenges and use cases by:

  • integrating commercial data sources and proprietary in-house data
  • adding more platform functionalities
  • enhancing connection to workflow tools and engaging existing and upcoming IMI projects and initiatives

For more information on the extension objectives see our previous announcement.
